Explore the database of IAU-approved planetary names by clicking on the target planet/planetary system tabs in the navigation menu, or by using the Advanced Search. The target pages show approved surface feature names for each body organized by Feature Types (Descriptor Terms), downloadable nomenclature maps, GIS (shapefile) downloads, and related resources. The Advanced Search allows users to find nomenclature across multiple planetary bodies based on a variety of search terms (descriptor terms, specific names, diameter, approval date, and more).
