  • Names Approved for Two Features on Ceres: Vendimia Planitia and Consus

    The IAU Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature has approved names for two features on Ceres. Consus was approved for a crater in the southern hemisphere and Vendimia Planitia was approved for a large, low plain.   • Name Approved for Feature on Titan: Buzzell Planitia

    The IAU Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature has approved the name Buzzell Planitia for a feature on Titan. For more information, see Titan's South Pole map and the Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature.

  • Names Approved for Features on the Moon: Hildegard, Hildegard K, Poincaré E, and Poincaré F

    The IAU Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature has approved names for four features on the Moon: Hildegard, Hildegard K, Poincare E, and Poincare F. The name Hildegard K replaced the name Pikel'ner K, when the name Hildegard was approved for the larger crater in which Hildegard K is located.     The IAU Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature has approved names for nine features on Titan: Tsomgo Lacus, Kayangan Lacus, Shoji Lacus, Romo Planitia, Rossak Planitia, Hagal Planitia, Saraswati Flumen, Karesos Flumen, and Hubur Flumen.
